Flooding in the Streets

This afternoon it rained. Hard. I played basketball at the park with some friends and around the time we were almost done, it started thunderstorming. So instead of doing the sensible thing and running for shelter, we played H-O-R-S-E in the rain.

We ran to our cars and drove home to dry off. When I looked out the window about an hour later, I noticed the street was flooded! Sam came over to check it out and I found an old scooter in my garage that we could play with in the mess.

These breezy autumn days are getting shorter and bring back one wistful memory from growing up in Lincolnwood:

Bundled up to beat the cold, I would wait for the school bus at the corner of Lunt and Kenton, right as the sun started to peek over the treetops. Sometimes the older kids (and Eliott) would wait there too. For bus # 5. The bus driver was a big black woman, appropriately named “Thyra.” And I used to sit with Gio.

In Like A Lion

Summer is finally starting to peek its beautiful face around here with temps in the 80′s, so Zotz and I decided to wander around the quads yesterday.

My TA for Basic Photo (ARTS 260) once anecdote’d to the class about how fledgling photogs on campus typically gravitate towards three things: bikes, squirrels, and trees. This is an ode to fledgling photogs on campus.
