Sam took some of our friends to his “secret spot” to watch the Niles West 4th of July fireworks. The spot was pretty good — a little far away — and I’ve seen better fireworks shows, but it was still a nice time anyway.

Happy Fourth of July fellow Americans! Next time I’m going to make a time-lapse video. :D

Holy Week

April 4, 2010

Happy Easter! Last night I went to Easter Vigil at Queen of All Saints Basillica with my mom and I think it is my favorite mass of the whole year. Sure, it’s two hours long, but it’s got candles, cool bible stories, and catechumens! I also love it because of the wonderful oratorios performed by the QAS chorus. There’s one I have stuck in my head and I can’t figure out its name just by searching on the internet.

I went to Palm Sunday mass at Holy Name Cathedral (first time in a while) and I never realized how small it is. It could fit inside Queens!

Turn Away From Sin

Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten season, a time of penitence and promise.
We renew our commitment to our faith and the love we have for one another.

Pro Nails

November 30, 2009

My niece got her toes done up with her fingernails matching. She came over to stay with my mom and I last Saturday, I think it was the first time she had nail polish put on. Doesn’t she look so excited?

I went to the Taste of Chicago on the afternoon of the 3rd with friends and we ate giant turkey legs (like baby dinosaurs) and watched the fireworks on the lakefront. I bought a remote shutter and used it for the first time.I sort of just winged the exposures for the fireworks, I’ll be sure to reference some online in the future. Anyway, the whole day was a really fun time, one of the funnest I’ve had in a while. Enjoy!
