Now, Sam and I spent the summer catching up on and discussing AMC’s seminal television drama, Mad Men, and we agreed that we needed to try out Don Draper’s favorite cocktail — an Old Fasioned. It. is. awesome. We gave some to Sue to try but she didn’t like it. I think the bartender didn’t mix the bourbon-licious drink well enough, but me and Sam still enjoyed feeling like 1960′s Ad Men in a music bar. Sam (who I have been urging to get into photography) took two of these shots, can you guess which ones?

  • JV’s parents held a family picnic the day after the wedding. Lots of good food, and luckily it was under some shade because boy was it HOT out!
  • Tossed around the football for the first time in a while.
  • Final cousin bonding time, said our goodbyes.
  • Took off for Newark Airport, waited an hour or so for our departure time.
  • I didn’t get a window seat on the plane, and my aisle was right next to the wing! Fail.
  • Arrived at O’Hare, picked up our baggage, and took the blue line to my brother’s apartment, and from there home sweet Lincolnwood.

… and that was my trip to NJ/NYC. I had a blast and have been missing my family so much. Sorry for the layover between Parts 12 and 13, I moved back in at school and have had a lot of stuff on my plate lately getting into school mode. That and wordpress image uploader is acting weird.   • The big day arrived! My cousin Karina got married to a lucky guy named JV Alpas.
  • Lavendar theme + Philippine traditions + lots of family and friends = great wedding.
  • The photogs they hired were such pros! Nikonians though… D3/D700 I think. Ew. I chatted with em for a bit and let ‘em do their job. I wonder how their shots turned out. They ended up in the way of a lot of mine, haha.
  • The church lighting sucked as usual. I wonder if the pro photogs asked if they could strobe.

  • Headed over to the hotel. I took an hour nap because by now I had a pretty sore throat.
  • Got a ride to the reception hall from my uncle. Hors d’œuvres gallore! And open bar. :-)
  • THE RECEPTION WAS A BLAST! Did I mention open bar? Break out the Henne, haha.
  • Good food, great desert, and good music! Bust-a-move!
  • After party in the hotel lobby! I was pooped and passed out before my cousins who went out to get sammiches came back.

  • Met up with Carag to go to a Yankees Game
  • New Yankee Stadium: it’s nice, but I was expecting more out of a billion dollar stadium (like there aren’t enough defining features).
  • I ate (and spent) too much. Did you know they sell Sushi and Steak here?
  • It was pretty overcast all day which sucked, besides getting rained on a little bit. They also made me check in my bag and twirl around while lifting up my t-shirt.
  • I got asked if I wanted to buy a Fukudome pin for $1 by a random stranger (I was wearing my Cubs hat). I declined the offer once I found out it wasn’t free.
