Old Fashioned

July 16, 2010

On Wednesday I went to see The Hemmingbirds perform at Reggie’s Music Joint in the South Loop. Now, Sam and I spent the summer catching up on and discussing AMC’s seminal television drama, Mad Men, and we agreed that we needed to try out Don Draper’s favorite cocktail — an Old Fasioned. It. is. awesome. We gave some to Sue to try but she didn’t like it. I think the bartender didn’t mix the bourbon-licious drink well enough, but me and Sam still enjoyed feeling like 1960′s Ad Men in a music bar. Sam (who I have been urging to get into photography) took two of these shots, can you guess which ones?

Bridging Modern Art

June 26, 2010

After going to the beach on Thursday my friends and I took a trip to the Chicago Art Institute and finally got around to checking out the ‘new’ modern wing, but for only a little bit since we were getting tired and hungry after a long day. I think checking it out a whole lot more merits another visit. I love that place. Anyway, we exited via the bridge to Milennium Park, here are some photos from that part of the visit.

One day, I will build an actual working human Pong game. Until that day, I have this picture to dream about it.

Pent House Balcony

April 12, 2010

I went to my 2nd cousin’s bridal shower on Saturday, which was held at my uncle’s amazing downtown condo, right across the street from Navy Pier (near the NMH campus). The food was good and I caught some of the Cubs game, but after a while a bunch of people insisted I switch it to the Masters tournament. After a while, I got pretty bored since I didn’t know anyone and wasn’t a big fan of bridal shower games — so I wandered around the building found my way up to the penthouse floor, where I found a sweet ass balcony. Then I proceded to creep on the (probably) rich guy that was chilling out on the balcony because he just looked so damned comfortable. He was pretty nice, actually.
