My name is Dean Santarinala, and I am a 20-something living in the Chicagoland area trying to find my place in the Universe. I have always enjoyed art and drawing, and along the way I picked up a camera and fell in love with photography.
I expect there to be a few more trips to Wrigleyville later this summer. I was apparently on TV (bleacher cam)! Woohoo!
I’ve been sorta lazy about narrowing down the amount of shots I throw into a gallery. I’ll try to be more selective and choose the winners, but I like to share the entirety of my adventures, so it’s hard for me to let go of some crappier shots. I know which ones I personally like better anyway.
All my senior friends have graduated. I’m sticking around. :.(

I shot Post Historic at Canopy on Friday night. The lighting on the small stage is still as terrible as ever (but not nearly as awful as Courtyard). I probably should have had a word with the lighting guy to just put up some white light. Instead, I was stuck with MAGENTA and CYAN for the whole set. Blech.

The last assignment of the year that I picked up was the tennis team shaving their heads to support Janice Revell, an administrative assistant who has been battling cancer for over a year now. They were facing against the light in the middle of the day so I tried as hard as I could to stay in the shadows so I wouldn’t get any nasty lens flare. I know I could’ve done a better job lighting and angle-wise, and I probably should’ve stopped down my aperture a bit. Oh well, live and learn.
